Single-Band Loomwork: Each ‘gerdan’
neckpiece is actually a one long band of patterned sections
woven in between pre-strung bugles/seed bead connectors.
The loomwoven band is then removed from the loom and joined
in front. It can be finished by tying warp threads into
a multi-layer swag. OR the band can be folded and further
woven into a central medallion. Finish off the warp threads
in a fabulous fringe for that crowning touch!
All require a custom 36” wooden loom or one where
long dowels can be inserted to temporarily elongate the
loom. Kit*

Basic loom: Ideal length of loom is
1yd. (1m.) long, 6" wide with raised sides on both
ends. A spring coil at each end works best for separating
warp threads.
Three screws evenly spaced on each end simplify wrapping
and loosening warp threads.
Special order looms available.
OPTION:
If you do not want to use a loom, each section can be
square-stitched and joined. However,
a long loom makes it all very easy once connectors are
pre-strung per pattern. – MR
